I guess not technically creating a thing... but it is our thang... Christa, my girlfriend, loves to watch the Academy Awards... I like filling out the pools so I'll sit through the show.  A few years ago, we decided that it might be even more interesting if we actually saw all the best picture nominees before the awards show.  And hence a tradition was born.  This year with the field expanded to 10 titles it's going to be a challenge.  When we saw that the little one-screen theatre less than a mile from work was showing "Up in the Air" -- one of the five not yet available on DVD and still on the "to see" list, we decided it was a fine plan for a Monday night.  And at $3 for everyone M-Th nights, the price can't be beat!  The theatre sits directly next to train tracks so inevitably at some point during every film I've seen there, you get to hear the train barreling through town... blowing its whistle.  3 films down, 7 to go...
