A is for Alphabet

Yay - finished - all done! I've learned lots:

Not to be so hard on myself
To stop being such a perfectionist - there's no point
That sometimes doing things fast yields the best work
That other people are much more forgiving than myself
That to do something (anything) is more gratifying than just thinking about it

I'm going to keep my Posterous site going. It's handy and easy, once I got the hang of posting. I had a plan for the alphabet which involved putting it into Flash and animating bits of it (minimally), so that's going to be my next project. There's no way I was going to get that finished by today, though for a while it seemed like a marvellous idea! I'm going to keep drawing, so many thanks to the people who left comments, which helped keep me on the straight and narrow. My only regret is that I didn't get to look at more work on Thing-a-day - it just became too time-consuming.

Bye, and all the best!  Carla

Z is for Zippy

But wait - that's not the end! One more thing to do, and that's to put them all together...see you tomorrow.

X is for Xenial

Did you know:

'Xenial' is an adjective which means giving gifts to strangers. Xenial people are usually very helpful, i.e: I was walking down the street and saw a young man helping an old lady across the street and thought, 'My, he is a xenial young man.' (From http://www.urbandictionary.com)

I didn't, either...

U is for Understanding

So here's what happened tonight. I was in the living room with my glass of wine, peacefully watching Coronation St - and in the ad breaks trying to come up with an inspired drawing. In sidled L, wanting to know what I was doing. He saw my drawing and said he thought the little one was him and the big one was me. Can I draw one too, he said. So (showing some understanding but not a lot as it's way past bedtime), I let him draw in my book, for approximately three minutes. I think I like his one better than mine, so I might get him to finish the alphabet for me.

T is for Terrified

Thanks Anne for your help on T. Nothing like a bit of helpful guidance to get you through the 'I really don't want to do this tonight' syndrome! I am personally afraid of X and Z that will be here any day now.

R is for Romantic

It's a hot summer Sunday afternoon, the cicadas are in full force, and I am at my desk drawing rabbits holding roses! Oh well. I'm on a mission to catch up. Here's some sentimental music to play and inspire romantic thoughts...
